5 Ways to Wear your Bandeaus

I have fallen in love with the versatility of my bandeau tops.  I don’t exaggerate when I say I wear one every single day—and I know I am not alone.  People come into my store all the time asking for “those tube top things.”   Bandeau tops (pronounced “band-oh”) are a wardrobe must have for any female.  Below is a list of the Top 5 reasons to seek out a bandeau top.

  1. Under Sheer Tops:  Summer is HOT here in the Midwest, so when I am shopping my main focus is finding something breezy.  If it’s not sheer, I’m not buying it.  Wearing a bandeau top under something sheer is the best way to stay cool, and look cool.

  2. Add a pop of color:  Bandeau tops come in literally every color imaginable.  I love to find a subtle color in a dress I’m wearing and use a matching color bandeau to make that color scream.  For example, I have a beautiful green dress with a multi-colored flower print.  When I pop a yellow bandeau, all the yellow colored flowers jump out in the dress.  Similarly, I could match my bandeau to some other accessory, such as wearing yellow shoes or earrings.
  3. Coverage:  Worried of a wardrobe malfunction?  With a bandeau, you have nothing to fear.  Bandeaus are perfect for coverage over a plunging front neckline, or to hide a bra strap in a deep back.  Nude bandeaus work best for coverage.
  4. Alternative to a cami:  While camis are great for smoothing underneath a tight shirt, they can be bulky if worn with the wrong shirt.  Bandeaus are easy and simple—no tucking in, no sizing issues, no problem.
  5. Fix a gaping bra:  Ever have that weird gap in your t-shirt from your bra underneath?  Just wear a bandeau over your bra, and your shirt will sit smoothly without that unattractive triangle outline.
